With the recent stretches of warm weather, it almost feels like summer already. In the spirit of warmer weather and exciting activities, here are several fun events happening all around Portland during summertime this year.
May 30: The Starlight run and parade usher in the Rose Festival on May 30th. After these two events, there is also a party and concert at Waterfront Park.
June 20: This one isn’t in Portland, but it’s at nearby Cannon Beach. It’s the 51st Annual Sandcastle contest! If you are a builder of sandcastles, you should check this activity out.
June 26-June 28: The Tigard Festival of Balloons will launch hot air balloons over Tigard.
July 2-July 5: If you love blues, the Waterfront Blues Festival will be just right for you!
July 11: It’s the return of Portland’s biggest Fair! The Mississippi Street Fair!
July 17-July 19: Is another North Portland Festival. This is the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, hosted by the Jazz Society of Oregon.
July 17-July 19: If Jazz isn’t your thing, sand castles just might be. These dates bring a return of Sand in the City, in downtown Portland’s Pioneer Square. This is a fun one to participate in and to observe and enjoy.
July 31: The heart of summer it’s the perfect time to participate in The Big Float on the Willamette River.
August 7-August 9: Celebrates our Portland foodies with The Bite of Oregon. If you’ve never participated in this event, you should. Your taste buds will thank you!
August 9: Get a chance to cross Portland’s newest bridge in the Bridge Pedal 2015.
August 21-August 23: Is MusicFest NW out at the Waterfront Park. There are a ton of performers this year!
August 28-August 29: The Hood to Coast Relay is something runners all throughout the Pacific NW train for all year long. Will you be part of the 34th anniversary of this fantastic and scenic event?
Sept 5-Sept 7: Enjoy art in NW Portland by joining Portlanders for Art in the Pearl.
